About Solido

Solido was founded in France in 1932 by Ferdinand de Vazeilles, whose precision foundry produced industrial components before turning its casting expertise to toys. Solido's early metal cars could be taken apart and reassembled, an innovation at a time when most toys were simple one-piece pressings. Over the following decades the brand became one of the best-known names in European diecast, and today it is run alongside sister brands Otto Mobile and GT Spirit.

Solido 1:18 Diecast Models

Solido's modern range focuses on 1:18 scale, around 25cm long. Unlike sealed resin models, Solido models are made from diecast metal with opening doors and rolling, steerable wheels, and many also have opening bonnets or boots. That combination of detail and an accessible price makes Solido an ideal starting point for a 1:18 collection, and a popular choice for collectors who want to build a large themed display.

Porsche, BMW and Performance Cars

Porsche 911s are at the core of the range, from the 964 and 993 Turbo to the latest 992 GT3 RS, including Weissach Package versions. BMW M cars are another highlight, with the M3 Competition Touring, M5 Touring and classic 635 CSi. Other favourites include the Ford Focus RS, Shelby GT500, Aston Martin DB5 and Alpine A110 and A290.

Rally Legends

Solido has an extensive rally range, including the Lancia Delta HF Integrale driven by Miki Biasion, the Peugeot 306 Maxi, the Alpine A110 Rallye and historic entries such as the Renault 17 from the Rallye du Maroc.

Fast & Furious and JDM
