Description

The Porsche 911 964 generation — produced from 1989 to 1994 — represented the most comprehensive engineering revision the 911 had undergone in decades, introducing coil springs, power steering, and a host of modernised systems whilst retaining the essential rear-engined, air-cooled character that defined the model. Its relatively clean, pure body lines make it a particularly compelling foundation for Akira Nakai’s RWB treatment: the wide fibreglass over-fenders that Nakai hand-fabricates and rivets directly to the bodywork find an ideal canvas in the 964’s uncluttered surfaces, and the transformation from road car to wide-body statement is perhaps more dramatic on the 964 than on any other 911 generation.

Natali is the name Nakai has given to this specific build — every RWB car is unique, built personally by its creator and christened with an individual name that marks it as a singular object rather than a production variant. In yellow, Natali makes no attempt at subtlety: the vivid colour works with the wide-body stance, lowered ride height, and signature rear wing to create a car that occupies its own visual territory entirely. Solido’s 1:18 diecast model captures the Natali build at approximately 25cm in length with openable doors and working wheels, presented on a display plinth. Officially licensed.
