Description

The 1967 Shelby GT500 is the most powerful and imposing expression of Carroll Shelby’s partnership with Ford — a big-block Mustang fastback whose 428 cubic inch V8 delivered the kind of performance that the smaller-engined GT350 could not match, packaged in bodywork that combined the Mustang’s already dramatic fastback shape with Shelby’s distinctive aerodynamic additions. The GT500 was the car for buyers who wanted everything the Mustang could offer turned up to its maximum, and the 1967 design — with its wider grille, twin fog lights, and muscular proportions — remains one of the most satisfying expressions of the American muscle car formula.
