The W17 is the first Mercedes Formula 1 challenger built to the 2026 technical regulations, which introduced active aerodynamics, a 50/50 split between internal combustion power and electrical energy, and fully sustainable fuels. The chassis is paired with the new Mercedes-AMG F1 M17 E Performance power unit, developed at Brixworth around the revised energy recovery framework. The W17 represents a clean-sheet design for the team and continues the long-standing partnership with title sponsor PETRONAS.
