Description

The Porsche 356A is one of the most beloved sports cars in history — a delicate, driver-focused machine born from Ferry Porsche’s vision of lightweight, rear-engined perfection. In standard form, it was a car for winding mountain roads and the occasional race circuit. In the hands of Valkyrie Racing, it became something altogether more audacious — a vehicle taken to one of the most hostile environments on the planet for the 2021 Antarctica Ice Challenge, where extreme cold, unpredictable ice surfaces, and conditions that would challenge purpose-built expedition vehicles were confronted with a 65-year-old German sports car.

The contrast between the 356A’s elegant, curvaceous beauty and the raw hostility of the Antarctic landscape makes this one of the most compelling and unusual subjects in Matrix’s limited edition range. Limited to just 150 pieces and presented at 1:43 scale at approximately 12cm in length, it arrives with a display base and case — a truly unique collector’s piece.

The scale of a model is its size as a proportion to the real-life item. For instance, a 1:18 scale model means that every 1 unit of measurement on the model equals 18 units on the real item. If you divide the real item's size by 18, you'd get the size of the 1:18 model.
