Thomas Sullivan Magnum IV — the former Navy SEAL turned private investigator living on a Hawaiian estate and driving his employer’s Ferrari 308 GTS — is one of American television’s most enduring characters, played by Tom Selleck across eight series of Magnum P.I. from 1980 to 1988. The character’s look became immediately iconic: the Detroit Tigers baseball cap, the unkempt moustache, the loud Hawaiian shirts worn open, and a manner that combined genuine competence with an instinct for finding trouble. The scale of a model is its size as a proportion to the real-life item. For instance, a 1:18 scale model means that every 1 unit of measurement on the model equals 18 units on the real item.
