Description

The Shelby Cobra 427 S/C — the “S/C” designation standing for Semi-Competition — was the most extreme road-going Cobra Carroll Shelby produced, built in numbers so small (around 31 original examples) that it occupies a place at the very pinnacle of American performance car history. Where the standard 427 Cobra was already a barely domesticated racing car, the S/C went further still: cycle wings, a wide-body treatment, a large front air dam, external oil cooler, and competition-specification suspension carried over directly from the racing programme. The 7.0-litre Ford V8 produced around 485 bhp in road-legal trim — a figure that, in a car weighing barely 1,000 kg, produced performance that remained genuinely startling decades after the last example left the Shelby American workshops.

The 1967 Cobra was the final year of production, and the S/C in blue captures a specific moment in American automotive history — the last, most extreme expression of an idea that began as a simple marriage of British chassis and American V8 and grew into one of the most celebrated sports cars ever made. GT Spirit’s 1:8 resin model captures the 427 S/C at approximately 53cm in length, produced as an individually numbered limited edition of 199 pieces with display base and case. Officially licensed.
