Citroen DS Diecast Models

The DS 19 was introduced at the Paris Motor Show on 6 October 1955, with hydropneumatic self-levelling suspension developed by Paul Magès, and it stayed in production until 1975. Norev has made the DS in many versions over the years in 1:18 and 1:12 diecast, including a 1:12 DS 23 Pallas in Green Metallic from 1973. At 1:12 a DS is a substantial model, and our scale guide compares the sizes. The DS also went racing: Spark makes the DS 19 that Guy Verrier and Alain Bertaut drove at the 1964 Spa 24 Hours as a 1:43 resin limited edition.

The BX 4TC and Citroen in Rallying

Citroen entered Group B in 1986 with the BX 4TC, which combined a turbocharged 2.1-litre engine, four-wheel drive and hydropneumatic suspension. To homologate it, Citroen had to build 200 road cars. Its best result was sixth on the 1986 Swedish Rally, and Group B ended at the close of that season. Otto Mobile makes the black road-going 'Client' version in 1:18 as a sealed resin numbered limited edition. Citroen's later rally success was far greater: Sébastien Loeb won nine consecutive drivers' titles from 2004 to 2012 at the wheel of Citroens. For other French marques, see our Peugeot models and Alpine models.

Youngtimers and Concepts

Otto Mobile also makes the 1991 ZX Volcane 1.9i in Noir Onyx in 1:18 resin, a hot hatch that now appeals to collectors of 1990s French cars. Otto Mobile shares its home in Brittany with sister brands Solido and GT Spirit. From the concept car world, Norev's 1:18 diecast GT by Citroen recreates the show car unveiled at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. It was developed with Polyphony Digital for the Gran Turismo video game, with exterior design by Takumi Yamamoto. At 4,960mm long the real car measures about 28cm in 1:18.
