Pocher Ferrari F50 1:8 Model Kit: Rosso Corsa & Giallo Modena

Pocher 1:8 Ferrari F50 Rosso Corsa HK62 pre-painted diecast model kit
Pocher 1:8 Ferrari F50 in Rosso Corsa (HK62)

The Pocher Ferrari F50 brings one of Maranello’s great V12 flagships to 1:8 scale. It’s a pre-painted diecast model kit with more than 688 parts, and the finished model is around 56 cm long. Pocher offers it in two Ferrari colours, Rosso Corsa (HK62) and Giallo Modena (HK63), both of which you can order from Model Universe.

The F50 is a fitting subject for Pocher’s large-scale range. Its engine comes from Ferrari’s Formula 1 programme, its chassis was built around a carbon-fibre tub, and its removable hardtop lets it run as either a berlinetta or an open barchetta. At 1:8 scale, all of that engineering is large enough to build by hand and study up close.

The Ferrari F50: A Formula 1 Car for the Road

Ferrari launched the F50 at the 1995 Geneva Motor Show to mark the company’s 50th anniversary. Production was limited to 349 cars. Where the F40 was a turbocharged road racer, the F50 took its inspiration directly from Formula 1.

At its heart is a 4.7-litre naturally aspirated V12 developed from the engine in Ferrari’s 1990 Formula 1 car. It produces around 520 PS and revs past 8,000 rpm. As on a Grand Prix car, the engine is bolted directly to the carbon-fibre monocoque and carries structural loads. The suspension uses inboard pushrod-operated dampers, another detail taken straight from racing.

The Pininfarina body adds a fixed rear wing, deep side intakes and a hardtop that lifts off to turn the coupé into a roadster. More than thirty years on, the F50 is one of the most sought-after Ferraris of the 1990s, and one of the most rewarding to recreate in scale.

Pocher Ferrari F50 1:8 Model Kit: Key Features

Pocher has spent decades building large-scale kits that reward patient builders, and the F50 is one of its most ambitious modern subjects. Highlights include:

  • 1:8 scale, a large-format model of around 56 cm when finished
  • Over 688 parts, with an estimated build time of 30+ hours (skill level 6)
  • Pre-painted diecast and metal construction, with bodywork finished at the factory
  • Detailed V12 engine recreating the F1-derived powerplant
  • Working suspension and detailed brakes
  • Opening doors, bonnet and engine cover
  • Removable roof, so it can be displayed as a berlinetta or a barchetta
  • Detailed cockpit with the F50’s exposed carbon interior design
  • Metal display plaque and collector poster included
  • Officially licensed by Ferrari

Why a Pre-Painted Kit Makes Sense

Paint is where many large-scale builds go wrong. Getting a flawless, deep finish on big body panels at home takes specialist equipment and a lot of practice. Pocher’s pre-painted approach takes that risk away. The body panels arrive finished in authentic Ferrari colours, so you can concentrate on the satisfying part: putting together the engine, chassis, suspension and interior step by step.

The result is a model that looks factory-built but that you assembled yourself. That makes the Pocher F50 a good choice for experienced builders and for collectors moving up from finished 1:18 models to their first serious large-scale kit.

Choose Your Colour: Rosso Corsa or Giallo Modena

Pocher Ferrari F50 Rosso Corsa (HK62)

Rosso Corsa is the definitive Ferrari colour, the racing red of Maranello. Most F50s were delivered in red, and this is the version that will feel most familiar to anyone who remembers the car’s launch. It suits the F50’s dramatic shape and contrasts strongly with the black detailing and exposed mechanical parts. View the Pocher Ferrari F50 Rosso Corsa (HK62).

Pocher 1:8 Ferrari F50 in Giallo Modena (HK63)

Pocher Ferrari F50 Giallo Modena (HK63)

Giallo Modena is the yellow of Ferrari’s home city, and it was one of the rarest and most striking colours on the real F50. In 1:8 scale it gives the model huge presence, and it shows off the body’s curves, intakes and vents in a way darker colours can’t. For a centrepiece that stands out from a sea of red, this is the version to pick. View the Pocher Ferrari F50 Giallo Modena (HK63).

How Big Is a 1:8 Scale Ferrari F50?

At 1:8 scale, every centimetre of the model represents 8 cm of the real car. The real F50 is about 4.48 metres long, so the finished Pocher model comes out at around 56 cm long. That’s roughly twice the length of a typical 1:18 model car. Plan your display space with that in mind. It makes a centrepiece on its own shelf or cabinet rather than one model among many. For a full comparison of model sizes, see our model car scale guide.

Who Is the Pocher F50 For?

  • Ferrari collectors who want a definitive large-scale version of one of Maranello’s most important supercars
  • Experienced model builders looking for an involved, multi-session project with a premium result
  • Collectors stepping up from 1:18 who want the scale and mechanical detail only a 1:8 kit can give
  • Gift buyers after something truly special for a Ferrari enthusiast
