Description

The Ferrari 125 S is the car from which everything that followed bears the Ferrari name — the first automobile built by Enzo Ferrari and his team at Maranello in 1947, and therefore the founding object of one of the most celebrated dynasties in automotive and motorsport history. Powered by a 1.5-litre V12 engine of just 125cc per cylinder, designed by Gioacchino Colombo, the 125 S established at the very beginning the principles that Ferrari would pursue for the decades that followed: a small-displacement, high-revving V12 in a lightweight, purpose-designed body, engineered with the singular ambition of winning races. From this car, all Ferraris descend.

The street version of the 125 S represents Ferrari’s earliest vision of what a road car could be — not a softened, compromised version of the racing car but something barely distinguished from it, a machine that wore its motorsport origins without concealment or apology. In red, the 125 S presents itself in the colour that would come to define the Ferrari name worldwide.
