The Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 is the customer racing evolution of the road-going R35 GT-R, developed by NISMO for international GT3 competition and adopted widely across the Super GT GT300 class. It pairs a front-mounted twin-turbocharged V6 with a sequential gearbox driving the rear wheels, all wrapped in aerodynamic bodywork engineered for high-downforce circuits. In Super GT trim it runs to a Balance of Performance set by the series, allowing it to race alongside JAF-GT and Mother Chassis machinery. The platform has been a fixture in the GT300 category since its introduction, contesting circuits from Okayama and Fuji to Suzuki and Motegi. HELM Motorsports has campaigned the GT-R as a Nissan-affiliated privateer effort.

Across the Super GT 2026 season, the No.62 HELM Motorsports GT-R competes in the GT300 class against a varied field that includes other GT3 entries from Mercedes-AMG, Lamborghini, BMW, Audi, Porsche and McLaren, as well as Japanese Mother Chassis cars based on the Toyota GR86 and Subaru BRZ and JAF-GT machinery such as the Honda NSX GT3 Evo and Nissan Fairlady Z.
