Description

The Ferrari 250 GTO stands as the definitive front-engined Ferrari racer of the 1960s and, for many enthusiasts, the most beautiful and coveted car ever made. Conceived as a homologation special so that Ferrari could go GT racing, it married a competition chassis and a 3.0-litre Colombo V12 to hand-beaten Scaglietti bodywork, and went on to dominate the GT class across 1962, 1963 and 1964. This example is finished in elegant Blu Scuro — a deep, dark blue that lends the GTO’s flowing lines an understated, almost sinister presence.

With just 36 examples ever built, the 250 GTO has become the ultimate blue-chip collector car, the very finest valued at tens of millions of pounds. Every detail — from the distinctive triple-nostril nose to the Kamm tail and roof spoiler developed through Ferrari’s own wind-tunnel work — was shaped by the demands of high-speed endurance racing.
