Description

The Porsche 956 is one of the greatest racing cars ever built, and its Le Mans debut in 1982 was nothing short of extraordinary. On its first appearance at La Sarthe, the twin-turbocharged Group C prototype won outright — with Jacky Ickx and Derek Bell taking the No. 1 Rothmans Porsche to victory in what would prove the first of six consecutive Le Mans wins for the 956 and its successor, the 962. Ickx, the incomparable Belgian who understood Le Mans better than almost any driver who has ever raced there, was claiming his record sixth overall victory; Bell, the quietly brilliant Englishman, his third.

The long-tail LH specification — Lang Heck in German — was developed specifically for the high-speed demands of Le Mans, the extended rear bodywork generating additional downforce and stability on the Mulsanne Straight. In the iconic Rothmans white and blue livery, the 956 LH is one of endurance racing’s most timeless and beautiful images. WERK83’s 1:18 diecast model features pre-applied Rothmans decals, openable doors, and working wheels, presented in a collector’s box at approximately 26cm in length — a definitive tribute to one of Le Mans’ most celebrated victories.
