Description

Pedro Rodriguez was among the most naturally gifted racing drivers of his generation — a Mexican of extraordinary instinct and bravery whose results in sports car racing throughout the 1960s placed him consistently among the fastest men of any nationality. His victory in the No. 8 Ferrari 330 TRI-LM at the Bridgehampton 400km in 1962 was part of a season in which the powerful 4.0-litre V12 Ferrari proved a formidable weapon in the hands of drivers of Rodriguez’s calibre, the American race circuit on Long Island providing a different test to the European endurance classics yet one the Ferrari handled with comparable authority.

Rodriguez’s career would be cut tragically short in 1971, making each documented race win a piece of history that collectors of the period prize particularly highly. Tecnomodel’s 1:18 resin model captures the No. 8 car in its Bridgehampton specification with photo-etch detail parts, limited to 55 pieces, mounted on a luxury leather base and presented with a display case.
