Description

The partnership of Phil Hill and Olivier Gendebien is among the most successful in Le Mans history — a pairing that won the 24 Hours together in 1958, 1961, and for the last time in 1962 in the No. 6 Ferrari 330 TRI-LM. For Gendebien it was a fourth Le Mans victory, cementing his status as the greatest endurance racing driver of his generation; for Hill, the reigning Formula 1 World Champion, it added a further jewel to a career already marked by the highest achievement. The Ferrari 330 TRI-LM’s 4.0-litre V12 and the experience of the factory team combined to deliver a commanding result at La Sarthe that year, continuing Ferrari’s extraordinary period of dominance in sports car racing.
