The Bentley Batur is the most exclusive and significant car that Mulliner — Bentley’s storied coachbuilding division — has produced in the modern era. Limited to just 18 examples worldwide, each sold before public reveal at approximately £1.65 million, the Batur wears entirely bespoke bodywork with no shared panels with the Continental GT beneath it, and was conceived as both an extraordinary collector’s object and a statement of the design themes that will define Bentley’s future. The twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre W12 in its most powerful road car form delivers 740bhp with the effortless, rolling authority that only Bentley’s W12 can produce.

Scarab is a colour of considerable depth and drama — an iridescent, richly complex finish that takes its name from the beetle whose lustrous carapace has been admired across millennia, and which on the Batur’s sculpted carbon fibre bodywork produces a surface that shifts and deepens with the light in a manner entirely appropriate to a car of this rarity and ambition.
