Description

The Porsche 918 Spyder is one of the defining automotive achievements of the 21st century — a plug-in hybrid hypercar that married a 4.6-litre naturally aspirated V8 with two electric motors to produce a combined output of 887bhp, and which used that power with such sophistication that it lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife in under seven minutes when it set a production car record in 2013. The 918 was part of the era’s celebrated hypercar trinity alongside the McLaren P1 and Ferrari LaFerrari, and it demonstrated more convincingly than either that hybrid technology could enhance rather than compromise the experience of a true driver’s car.

The Weissach Package takes the 918’s capability a step further — a factory option named after Porsche’s famous research and development centre that strips approximately 35kg from the car’s weight through the use of magnesium wheels, carbon fibre body components, and additional aerodynamic elements. The package transforms a road car that is already extraordinary into something closer to what Porsche’s engineers would build if weight and road-legal considerations were entirely set aside. GT Silver Metallic suits the 918’s sculptural, purpose-driven form with particular elegance.

AUTOart’s 1:12 composite model captures every element of the Weissach Package car in a format that demands attention — at 39cm long, the model’s scale allows detail that smaller sizes cannot achieve. Opening doors, front boot, and fuel filler cover, a working rear spoiler, removable hardtop, and rolling wheels make this an interactive as well as a visual piece. Officially licensed by Porsche.
