The SF-26 is Ferrari’s challenger for the 2026 Formula 1 season, developed under the sport’s new technical regulations that introduce reworked aerodynamic rules and a revised power unit formula combining a smaller internal combustion engine with significantly increased electrical energy. Built at Maranello, the car continues Ferrari’s lineage of front-engined hybrid Formula 1 machinery and represents a clean-sheet design intended to reset the competitive order. The chassis is paired with a new-generation Ferrari power unit running on fully sustainable fuels, a key pillar of the 2026 rule set. Charles Leclerc continues with the team as lead driver, partnered by Lewis Hamilton in his second season in red.

The Canadian Grand Prix is held on the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, a semi-permanent street circuit on Ile Notre-Dame known for its long straights, tight chicanes and the famously punishing Wall of Champions. The 2026 edition marks the debut of the new regulations on this circuit, where power unit efficiency and traction out of low-speed corners traditionally dictate lap time. Leclerc lines up in the No.16 SF-26 as part of Ferrari’s campaign, contesting the race against the other works teams running 2026-specification machinery.
