Overview
The Ferrari FXX-K Evo is an extreme, track-only hypercar developed by Ferrari as part of its exclusive XX Programme, which allows select clients to drive and develop advanced Ferrari prototypes under factory supervision. Revealed in 2017 as an evolution of the 2015 FXX-K, the Evo represents one of the most advanced non-competition cars Ferrari has ever produced.
Based on the LaFerrari, but heavily re-engineered, the FXX-K Evo incorporates motorsport-derived aerodynamics, chassis technology, and hybrid powertrain innovation, pushing performance far beyond road-going standards.
Performance
At the heart of the FXX-K Evo is a 6.3-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine, paired with an electric motor as part of Ferrari’s HY-KERS hybrid system.

Design
The FXX-K Evo’s bodywork is a radical evolution of the LaFerrari’s form, prioritising aerodynamic efficiency and downforce.
- Aerodynamics: Ferrari’s engineers introduced a fixed rear wing, twin-profile spoiler, larger front air intakes, vortex generators, and new rear diffusers. Together, these upgrades increase downforce by 23% over the original FXX-K, generating up to 830 kg at 250 km/h.
- Bodywork Materials: Extensive use of carbon fibre reduces weight while increasing stiffness.
- Interior: Purpose-built for track driving, with stripped-back racing seats, multi-function steering wheel, digital telemetry displays, and FIA-compliant safety equipment.
Driving Technology
The FXX-K Evo integrates Ferrari’s latest motorsport innovations:
- HY-KERS Hybrid System: Recovered energy is stored and redeployed to boost acceleration and performance.
- Evolved Suspension: Racing suspension tuned for extreme track loads.
- Brake System: Brembo carbon-ceramic discs engineered for sustained track use.
- Electronics: Five driving modes, including Qualify (maximum performance), Long Run (endurance), Manual Boost, Fast Charge, and full hybrid control modes.
Track Programme
The FXX-K Evo is not homologated for road use or racing series. Instead, it is part of Ferrari’s XX Programme, where owners are invited to factory-organised track days around the world. Ferrari engineers gather data from each outing to inform future road and race car development.
Clients do not take the car home; Ferrari maintains, stores, and transports each FXX-K Evo, ensuring it remains in perfect condition for every event.
