Description
Jaguar’s second Le Mans victory within three years, in 1990, was achieved with the XJR-12 — an evolution of the championship-winning XJR-9 with revised bodywork developed by Tom Walkinshaw Racing to address aerodynamic efficiency and reliability at La Sarthe’s unique combination of full-speed straights and technical infield sections. The No. 3 car shared between Martin Brundle, John Nielsen, and Price Cobb proved the most accomplished of the Jaguar entries across the full 24-hour distance, completing a result that confirmed TWR’s operation as one of endurance racing’s most complete outfits of the era.
For Brundle, the Le Mans win added the sport’s most prestigious result to a career that already included the 1988 Daytona 24 Hours with Jaguar — cementing his reputation as one of the finest endurance racing drivers of his generation alongside his Formula 1 commitments. Nielsen, his co-driver from Daytona two years earlier, brought the same precise, measured approach to the French circuit, while American Price Cobb’s IMSA experience proved a valuable complement over a race that lasted from the Saturday afternoon sun through to Sunday in conditions that tested every aspect of car and crew preparation. The 6.0-litre V12’s combination of power and durability was ultimately the difference. CMR’s 1:18 diecast model captures the No. 3 winning car at 26cm in length with openable doors, working wheels, and a display plinth.

A pretty awesome model, especially for the relatively low price. The rims are done especially well and the livery colours look really good.
Do note though that the actual box for this car says that it’s an XJR 12, but after some research, it looks like the XJR 9 is almost identical to the 12, but with a different engine.
