The Toyota GR Supra GT500 was developed by Toyota Gazoo Racing to contest the top class of Japan’s Super GT championship. It is built around a carbon monocoque chassis shared under Class 1 regulations and powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre RI4AG inline-four producing in excess of 600bhp. The Supra bodywork is engineered to extract maximum aerodynamic performance within the series’ tightly controlled rules, balancing downforce with the demands of Super GT’s varied circuits. SARD is one of the longest-running teams in Japanese motorsport and a long-standing Toyota partner, with the DENSO KOBELCO sponsorship a fixture on its GT500 cars for many seasons.

Across the 2026 Super GT season, the No.39 SARD entry contests the GT500 class against fellow Toyota GR Supras from TOM’S, Cerumo and Rookie Racing, alongside the Honda Civic Type R-GT cars run by Mugen, ARTA and Nakajima Racing and the Nissan Z entries from NISMO, Impul, Kondo and TEAM IMPUL. Sekiguchi brings extensive Super Formula and GT500 experience to the line-up, partnered with former Formula E and Super Formula racer Fenestraz.
