Description

Spark 1:43 scale resin model of the No.1 Rothmans Porsche 962C that won the 1986 24 Hours of Le Mans. Finished in the Rothmans Porsche white and blue livery and carrying race number 1 as driven by Hans-Joachim Stuck, Derek Bell and Al Holbert, the model is an officially licensed product, supplied with a display base and clear display case. A sheet of Rothmans decals is included separately for self-application. Reference 43LM86.

The Porsche 962C was the Group C works evolution of the 956, with a longer wheelbase that moved the driver’s feet behind the front axle. The No.1 car raced at Le Mans in 1986 was powered by the Porsche type 935/76, a 2.6-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six, driving through a five-speed manual gearbox on an aluminium monocoque chassis. Entered by the factory Rothmans Porsche team, Stuck, Bell and Holbert completed 368 laps to win by eight laps, taking Porsche’s sixth consecutive victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The same trio went on to win again in 1987.
