Description

Add a Group B rally icon to your collection with the Lancia 037 Rally No.18 5th Sanremo Rally 1983. This officially licensed replica represents the entry that finished fifth on home soil, driven by Miki Biasion and Tiziano Siviero.

The Lancia 037 was developed by Abarth in collaboration with Pininfarina and Dallara to contest the FIA’s new Group B regulations, and it became the last rear-wheel-drive car to win the World Rally Championship manufacturers’ title in 1983. Built around a mid-mounted, supercharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, the 037 used a tubular subframe construction bolted to a central Beta Montecarlo monocoque. Its compact dimensions, balanced chassis and instant supercharger response made it formidable on sealed surfaces, even as four-wheel-drive rivals began to emerge. The car carried Lancia’s Martini Racing programme through a fiercely contested period of rallying and remains one of the defining shapes of the Group B era.

At the 1983 Sanremo Rally, the 037 faced strong opposition from the Audi Quattro and other works entries on a mixed-surface event that traditionally favoured the Italian marque. Biasion and Siviero brought car No.18 home in fifth place overall, a solid result for the young Italian crew who would go on to become two-time World Rally Champions later in the decade. The event formed part of the season in which Lancia secured the manufacturers’ crown with the 037.

Made by Spark in 1:43 scale, this resin model measures approximately 10cm in length and comes mounted on a branded display base under a clear acrylic cover. The sealed-body format favoured by Spark allows fine reproduction of the 037’s distinctive wedge silhouette, decals and period sponsor liveries without compromising panel fit.
