Description

Add a Group B rally icon to your collection with the Lancia 037 Rally No.11 6th Tour de Corse 1984. This officially licensed replica represents the entry that finished sixth on the Corsican asphalt classic, driven by Jean-Claude Andruet and co-driver M. Rich-Place.

The Lancia 037 was developed by Abarth as Lancia’s answer to the new Group B regulations introduced for the 1982 World Rally Championship. Built around a mid-mounted, supercharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine driving the rear wheels, it was designed for tarmac performance and lightweight agility at a time when most rivals were turning to four-wheel drive. The 037 carried Lancia to the manufacturers’ title in 1983, becoming the last two-wheel-drive car to win the WRC crown. By 1984 it was being outpaced on loose surfaces by the Audi Quattro and the emerging four-wheel-drive generation, but on smooth asphalt events it remained genuinely competitive. Privateer and works-supported 037s continued to score strong results in the hands of experienced drivers.

At the 1984 Tour de Corse, the Lancia 037 Rally faced a field that included the Audi Quattro, Renault 5 Turbo and Peugeot 205 Turbo 16, on the long, twisting mountain stages that have always defined the event. Andruet, a French rally specialist with deep Corsican experience, brought this 037 home in sixth place overall, a solid result on one of the championship’s most demanding tarmac rounds.

Made by Spark in 1:43 scale, this resin model measures approximately 10cm in length and is supplied on a branded display base with a clear acrylic cover. The 1:43 format is the long-established standard for rally collections and allows the 037 to be shown alongside other Group B and WRC contemporaries without dominating the shelf.
