The GMR-001 is the first purpose-built prototype from Genesis Magma Racing, the works motorsport programme of Hyundai Motor Group’s luxury marque Genesis. Built to the Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) regulations, the car has been developed in partnership with Oreca and draws on technical experience from across the wider Hyundai performance organisation. The chassis is designed around the LMH platform with a hybrid powertrain package suited to the current generation of top-class endurance rules. Genesis’s entry marks the brand’s first foray into international sportscar racing and forms the cornerstone of its Magma high-performance sub-brand strategy.

For the 2026 WEC season, the GMR-001 joins a competitive Hypercar grid contested by manufacturers including Ferrari, Toyota, Porsche, Cadillac, BMW, Peugeot, Alpine, Aston Martin and Aptiv. As a debut entry, the programme’s first season will be a learning campaign across the championship’s eight rounds, culminating at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
