Description

The Porsche 356 is where it all began. Ferry Porsche’s vision of a lightweight, driver-focused sports car — built initially in a converted sawmill in Gmünd, Austria, using Volkswagen mechanicals — laid the foundation for everything that followed. The Pre-A cars, produced between 1948 and 1955, are the purest expression of that original idea: delicate aluminium bodywork, a rear-mounted flat-four engine, and a featherlight construction that made the most of modest power outputs. By 1952, production had moved to Stuttgart and the 356 was earning a reputation on road and track alike for its handling balance and mechanical refinement.

In Silver, the 356 Pre-A presents in a colour that perfectly complements its elegant, curvaceous body — a design that owes more to sculptural intuition than aerodynamic calculation, and is all the more beautiful for it.

Schuco’s 1:18 resin model captures the Pre-A’s delicate proportions at approximately 25cm in length, officially licensed by Porsche and presented with a display case and base.
