Description

The Ford Escort RS Turbo Series 2 was the natural evolution of Ford’s turbocharged performance Escort — an updated model based on the Mk4 Escort platform that brought revised styling, a reconfigured bodykit, and detail engineering improvements over the original Series 1 car. Where the first RS Turbo had been based on the angular Mk3 bodyshell, the S2 adopted the smoother, more rounded lines of the Mk4, fitted with bespoke front and rear spoilers, side skirts, and alloy wheels that distinguished it immediately from the standard Escort range.

Produced from 1990 and continuing Ford’s tradition of offering a genuine driver’s car within the Escort range, the RS Turbo S2 retained the essential character of its predecessor — turbocharged performance from a 1.6-litre engine in a lightweight front-wheel-drive package — whilst delivering improved refinement and updated equipment levels. In Grey it presents as one of the more understated colour choices for the model, the clean bodywork and period detailing captured well at this scale.
