Description

The Jaguar XJS holds a unique place in automotive history — a grand tourer produced continuously from 1975 to 1996, spanning two decades and outlasting virtually every rival it ever faced. The Celebration special edition of 1995 was produced to mark the approaching end of XJS production, a fitting tribute to a car that had, by then, become as much an institution as a sports car. The 4.0-litre inline-six Cabriolet represents the XJS in one of its most elegant and desirable forms — open-air motoring with the refinement and presence that only a late-period XJS could deliver.

By 1995, the XJS had been refined and developed to a level of maturity that made earlier versions seem almost unfinished by comparison, and the Celebration edition’s bespoke specification underlined the model’s enduring appeal. In Red, the Cabriolet’s long bonnet, flowing roofline, and deeply characterful proportions make a striking final statement for one of Jaguar’s most enduring models. Matrix’s 1:43 resin model is limited to just 100 pieces, presented with a display case and base.
