Description

The Aston Martin Lagonda Series I of 1974-75 is among the rarest of all post-war British luxury cars — a four-door grand touring saloon built on the DBS/V8 platform, fitted with the 5.3-litre V8 engine and clothed in a formal, upright body that offered genuine accommodation for four adults at the performance levels Aston Martin’s customers expected. Just seven examples were completed before the Lagonda name was reapplied to the radical William Towns-designed wedge-shaped Series 2 of 1976, making the Series I a footnote in production terms yet a deeply significant car in the Lagonda story — a bridge between the old order and one of the most visually extraordinary saloons of the modern era.

In Blue Metallic the Series I’s upright, formal proportions carry a reserved elegance appropriate to a car built in such small numbers for the most discerning clientele. Matrix’s 1:43 resin model captures the car at approximately 11cm in length, limited to 100 pieces, presented with display base and display case.
