Description

The Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 is one of the most celebrated automobiles of the pre-war era — a car of exceptional engineering designed under the direction of Vittorio Jano, whose twin overhead camshaft inline-six engine represented the state of the art in the early 1930s and whose competition record was virtually unmatched. The Super Veloce specification elevated the 6C 1750’s performance still further, while the choice of coachbuilder determined the visual magnificence of the finished car.

Joseph Figoni was among the greatest coachbuilders of the Art Deco period — a craftsman whose flowing, sculptural bodywork transformed already fine chassis into objects of genuine artistic beauty. A Figoni-bodied Alfa Romeo 6C 1750SV is therefore a convergence of two of the 1930s’ most gifted automotive minds, and the result in White and Blue is a pre-war masterpiece of composition and elegance. Matrix’s 1:43 resin model of this extraordinarily significant car is limited to just 100 pieces, presented with a display case and base — a remarkable subject treated with the care it deserves.
