The Ferrari SF-26 is the works Scuderia Ferrari challenger built for the 2026 Formula 1 season, the first year of the sport’s overhauled technical regulations. The new rules introduce a lighter, more nimble chassis with active aerodynamics and a power unit that splits output roughly evenly between the internal combustion engine and electrical energy, while moving to fully sustainable fuel. Ferrari’s Maranello engineering programme has focused on packaging the new hybrid system, recovering battery deployment across a lap and adapting to the revised tyre construction. The car continues the SF naming convention used by the Scuderia in recent seasons and carries the manufacturer’s longest unbroken record in the world championship.

At the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka, the SF-26 competed against the full 2026 grid on one of the most technically demanding circuits on the calendar, with its fast esses, downhill section and tight chicane placing a premium on aerodynamic balance and tyre management. Lewis Hamilton ran the No.44 he has carried throughout his Formula 1 career, continuing his programme with Ferrari after his move from Mercedes. The Suzuka round is one of the championship’s traditional flyaway fixtures and a long-standing favourite of the drivers.
