Description

The Lamborghini Espada was one of the most ambitious cars the Sant’Agata factory produced in the classic era — a genuine four-seater grand tourer powered by the 3.9-litre V12, styled by Marcello Gandini at Bertone with the same bold, low-slung visual language he would later apply to the Countach. Where most Lamborghinis of the period demanded two occupants tolerate each other’s company at close quarters, the Espada offered four adults genuine room at speeds the competition could not match, combining practicality that the Miura entirely lacked with performance that few rivals of any body style could challenge.

The S2, introduced in 1970, brought detail refinements including improved interior quality and increased power, cementing the Espada’s position as the most capable everyday Lamborghini of the early 1970s. In Red Metallic the car’s dramatic, wide stance and distinctive glasshouse profile make for one of the more visually striking models in any collection.
