Description

Proton Competition is one of endurance racing’s most experienced and committed Porsche customer operations — a German team with a long history of running Stuttgart’s machinery at the highest level of international sports car racing, from the 911 RSR through to the LMDh era. Their No. 99 Porsche 963 at the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans represented the team’s entry into the Hypercar class, a step up in competition level and technical complexity that Proton approached with the professional preparation and deep Porsche knowledge that had served them well throughout the previous regulations.

The Porsche 963 itself is the LMDh hybrid prototype developed jointly between Porsche and Multimatic, its twin-turbocharged flat-six engine combined with a standardised hybrid system to produce a car of genuine performance and reliability — qualities demonstrated by the factory and customer entries across the 2023 and 2024 seasons. Racing at Le Mans with the 963, against factory Ferraris, Toyotas, Cadillacs, and other works entries, represents the most demanding test any endurance racing team can face. Ixo’s 1:18 diecast model captures the No. 99 Proton Competition car at approximately 25cm in length with rollable wheels, presented with a display base. Officially licensed.
