Description

The Porsche 911 GT2 RS is the most extreme 911 that Porsche’s Motorsport division will sanction for road use — rear-wheel drive, no all-wheel-drive safety net, and 700 PS from a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six that requires both respect and commitment to exploit fully. In 2017, Lars Kern drove a production GT2 RS around the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 6 minutes 47.3 seconds, setting a production car lap record that stood as one of the most significant benchmarks in the sport of timed laps on the world’s most demanding circuit. The achievement confirmed what the engineers already knew: that the 991.2 GT2 RS was not merely fast in straight lines but devastatingly capable through the Nordschleife’s 73 corners.
