Description

The Volvo 262C was one of the most unusual and ambitious luxury cars of the late 1970s — a two-door coupé built on the 264 platform but bodied by Bertone in Turin, with Volvo shipping rolling chassis to Italy for the coachbuilder to complete the bodywork before the finished cars returned to Sweden. The arrangement gave the 262C genuine Italian coachbuilding credentials alongside Volvo’s reputation for engineering solidity, and the result was a pillarless hardtop coupé with a distinctively low roofline that set it apart from anything else in Volvo’s range. Powered by the PRV V6 shared with Peugeot and Renault, the 262C was positioned as a flagship luxury car priced to compete with Mercedes and BMW coupés of the era.

Metallic Blue gives the 262C a cooler, more sophisticated character that works well with the car’s clean, unfussy lines. Cult Scale’s 1:18 resin model captures the 1981 final-year car at approximately 27cm in length, produced as a strictly limited edition of just 120 units. With display base.
