About MR Collection
MR Collection Models was founded in 1988 and has worked from Gerenzano, between Milan and Lake Como, for almost 35 years, with a team of around 20 people. The company makes models in 1:43, 1:18 and 1:8 and holds official licences for marques including Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bugatti, Pagani, Bentley and Porsche. It also produces premiere models that launch alongside the real cars at their world debuts.
How the Models Are Made
Each body is cast in resin from silicone moulds taken from a master prototype, then finished with white metal and photo-etched parts, decals and window glazing in 0.1 mm acetate. Some models have more than 100 parts, and the paint is built up in five coats in dust-free rooms. Resin models of this kind are sealed, so the doors and bonnet do not open, but the shut lines, wheels and interiors are reproduced in fine detail. Many releases are limited editions in small numbers.
