The introduction of the LMGT3 class at the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans brought GT3 machinery to La Sarthe for the first time under the ACO’s new regulations — a class that replaced the GTE categories and opened the world’s most prestigious endurance race to the latest generation of customer GT racing cars. The No. 91 Porsche 911 GT3 R, driven by Richard Lietz, Morris Schuring, and Shahin, took class victory in LMGT3 at the Circuit de la Sarthe, a result that demonstrated the 992-generation 911 GT3 R’s exceptional balance of performance, reliability, and drivability across the full 24-hour distance.

Lietz, one of Porsche’s most experienced customer racing drivers with a long history of GT class success at Le Mans, brought the knowledge and measured approach that a 24-hour race at this level demands, complemented by Schuring’s youth and pace in a crew that proved capable of managing the full race distance at the consistently high level that LMGT3 class victory required.
