Add a Dakar rally raid replica to your collection with the Spark 1:43 Toyota Hilux No.251 30th Place Dakar 2023. This officially licensed model represents the privateer Hilux entry that completed the gruelling Saudi Arabian marathon, driven by A. Pesci with S. Kuhni in the navigator’s seat.

The Toyota Hilux has become one of the defining machines of modern cross-country rally raid, developed to combine production-derived robustness with the suspension travel, ground clearance and fuel range required by Dakar’s mixed terrain. Built around a tubular spaceframe with long-travel double wishbones, the rally Hilux pairs a V8 powerplant with a reinforced transmission designed to survive thousands of competitive kilometres of dunes, rock and fast piste. Toyota’s factory programme delivered overall Dakar victories in 2022 and 2023, and the same chassis architecture is used by a wide network of customer teams contesting the W2RC and the Dakar itself. The platform has proven equally suited to outright contenders and to privateer crews targeting class results and a finish.

At the 2023 Dakar Rally, the field tackled fourteen demanding stages across Saudi Arabia, with the factory Toyota of Nasser Al-Attiyah taking the overall car class win while a deep entry list of privateer Hilux crews fought through navigation traps, dune crossings and long liaison sections. Car No.251, crewed by Pesci and Kuhni, brought their Hilux home in 30th place overall in the car category — a creditable finish in one of the world’s toughest motorsport events, where simply reaching the podium ramp in Dammam is an achievement in itself.

Made by Spark in 1:43 scale, this resin model measures approximately 11cm in length and is supplied on a branded display base with a clear acrylic cover.
