The Dakar Rally is the flagship round of the FIA World Rally-Raid Championship and the most demanding event of its kind, traversing thousands of kilometres of dunes, rock and open desert across multiple stages. Cars entered in the top class must combine outright pace with the durability to survive long marathon days, navigate using only road book information and run reliably in extreme heat and dust. Crews tackle a mix of high-speed pistes, technical canyon sections and soft sand, with mechanical preparation and navigation often counting for as much as raw speed. Australian Toby Price, a two-time motorcycle Dakar winner, has continued his transition to four wheels in recent seasons, bringing his desert experience to the car category.

At the 2026 Dakar Rally, the No.204 SVR competed across more than a fortnight of stages against a deep field of factory-supported and privateer entries from manufacturers including Toyota, Ford, Mini and Audi alongside specialist prototype builders. The crew brought the car home in eighth position overall in the car classification, a strong result that reflected consistent stage pace and few mechanical setbacks across the marathon route.
