The AMR26 is Aston Martin’s challenger for the 2026 Formula 1 World Championship, the first season under the sport’s new technical regulations covering chassis, aerodynamics and power units. The new ruleset introduces lighter, more agile cars and a hybrid power unit with a significantly increased share of electrical energy, paired with sustainable fuels. The AMR26 is also the first car to emerge from the team’s purpose-built Silverstone technology campus and marks the start of its works partnership with Honda for power unit supply. It continues the project led by Lawrence Stroll to develop Aston Martin into a front-running constructor.

At the 2026 Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka, the AMR26 lines up against the rest of the reshaped grid, including the Mercedes, Ferrari, McLaren, Red Bull and Audi-badged Sauber entries running to the same new regulations. Suzuka’s high-speed esses and technical final sector reward chassis balance and tyre management, areas the team has prioritised in this generation of car. Alonso, a two-time World Champion with extensive experience of the circuit, leads the team’s effort over the weekend.
