Built to the shared Class 1-derived GT500 regulations, it carries a turbocharged 2.0-litre inline-four from the HR-417E family driving the rear wheels, mated to a sequential gearbox and housed inside a common carbon monocoque shared across the manufacturers. The chassis combines the standardised aero kit with Honda-specific bodywork inspired by the road-going Prelude revival, marking a fresh chapter for the marque in Super GT. HRC took the project in-house to consolidate Honda’s factory motorsport activities, while Mugen and ARTA continue their long association as operational partners.

Across the 2026 Super GT season the No.8 ARTA Mugen entry contests the full GT500 calendar against rival Honda PRELUDE-GTs, Toyota GR Supra GT500s and Nissan Z GT500s at circuits including Okayama, Fuji, Suzuka, SUGO, Autopolis and Motegi.
