Description

The Ferrari F40 was the last car personally approved by Enzo Ferrari before his death in 1988 — a raw, uncompromising machine built to mark the company’s 40th anniversary and to reclaim for Ferrari the title of the world’s fastest production car. With a twin-turbocharged 2.9-litre V8 producing around 478bhp and a top speed of over 200mph, the F40 dispensed with the creature comforts that had softened some of Ferrari’s road cars in favour of the kind of driving intensity that had defined the company’s greatest racing machines. Its arrival in 1987 caused an immediate sensation that has never fully subsided.

This particular model carries exceptional provenance: it represents the F40 gifted to Nigel Mansell by Enzo Ferrari himself upon Mansell joining as a Ferrari works driver. Mansell’s relationship with Ferrari was one of the most celebrated in the sport during the late 1980s, and the personal gift from the Commendatore makes this among the most storied individually-owned Ferraris of the era. BBR’s 1:18 resin model captures this historically significant car in Rosso Corsa, produced as a limited edition of 200 pieces. Presented with luxury display base and optional high-quality plexiglass display case. Officially licensed.
