ABOUT THE FORD MUSTANG GTD

Ford Mustang GTD – The Ultimate Street-Legal Racing Mustang

The Ford Mustang GTD is no ordinary muscle car. It is a road-going version of Ford’s GT3 racing machine, built to push performance to the absolute limit while remaining fully street legal. Developed in partnership with Multimatic, the engineering firm behind the Ford GT supercar, the GTD blends American muscle heritage with advanced motorsport technology.

Under the bonnet sits a hand-built, supercharged 5.2-litre V8 producing around 815 bhp and 664 lb-ft of torque. Power is delivered through an eight-speed dual-clutch rear transaxle, helping the GTD achieve a top speed of 202 mph. It will launch from 0–62 mph in just over three seconds, making it one of the fastest accelerating Mustangs ever.

On the track, the GTD is a record-breaker. In 2025, it became the first American production car to lap Germany’s legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife in under seven minutes, clocking an extraordinary 6 minutes 52.072 seconds. This puts it in the same league as hypercars costing several times more.

The Mustang GTD’s bodywork is crafted predominantly from carbon fibre, giving it a wide, aggressive stance and reducing weight. Active aerodynamics, including a hydraulically controlled rear wing, provide immense downforce at speed. Stopping power comes from carbon-ceramic brakes, while Multimatic’s race-derived adaptive suspension can lower the car by 40 mm in Track Mode for even sharper handling.

Inside, the GTD retains a driver-focused cockpit with Recaro racing seats, Miko suede trim, and bespoke paddle shifters machined from repurposed titanium originally used in Lockheed Martin F-22 fighter jets. The digital instrument cluster and central display offer configurable performance data to suit both road cruising and track driving.

Production is strictly limited to around 1,000 units worldwide, with UK pricing starting at approximately £258,000. Each car will be built in the United States before final assembly and finishing at Multimatic’s facility in Ontario, Canada. Owners will be restricted from reselling their cars for the first two years, ensuring exclusivity.

The Ford Mustang GTD is a rare blend of raw muscle, cutting-edge racing technology, and exclusivity. Whether on the road or tearing up the track, it delivers an experience that few cars can match. For enthusiasts seeking the ultimate Mustang, this is as good as it gets.
