Nigel Mansell won the 1986 British Grand Prix at Brands Hatch in dramatic style, delivering a thrilling performance in front of his home crowd. Driving for Williams-Honda, Mansell started from second on the grid behind his teammate Nelson Piquet.

At the start, Piquet took the lead, while Mansell stayed close behind, setting up an intense battle between the two Williams drivers. The race took a decisive turn when Mansell made a stunning overtake on Piquet with 18 laps to go, sending the British fans into a frenzy.

Despite Piquet’s attempts to fight back, Mansell maintained his pace and crossed the finish line first, securing a hugely popular victory. The win was particularly significant as it strengthened his position in the 1986 championship battle.
